Our Story

The Idea of owning our own Restaurant came a long time ago.

 

We missed the old days where you walked into an establishment that was Owner owned and operated. The lovely feeling of walking into a friends house or visiting by your favorite Auntie or Grandma. The warm feeling of knowing today you will enjoy your Meal tremendously with heartwarming hospitality.

We then decided to bring back the good old Days in offering the perfect place to enjoy a glass of Wine, a cold local Beer and an authentic Meal.

Daniela and I are both qualified in the Hospitality field. Me, Harald Piek, a qualified Chef completed my Apprenticeship in the Black Forrest of Germany and then gained experience in renowned Hotels of the Alps and Cape Town, after returning to Namibia.

I, Daniela Schmalzried, obtained my Hotel Management Diploma in Switzerland. After that I gained experience in international Hotels in Germany and on Cruise Liners and in Cape Town and Namibia.

Together we Managed Lodges in the Northern parts of Namibia after returning a decade and half later to open our Own little place.

The Vintner Restaurant, Wine Bar and Shop was an established business that we decided to purchase and develop into the Welcoming Venue that it is today. The unique combination of a Mediterranean style eatery with local specialties and some German Beergaden Classics together with a fully stocked Bottlestore set in a cozy ambience with inside and outside seating.
